With the holiday season upon us I love when my students get to create their very own photo snow globe each year. It is the perfect craft to complete during the holiday season with your students and putting the project together is just as fun as seeing the final result!
Here Is What You Will Need
- Clear plastic plates
- Hot glue gun
- Glue dots
- Snow glitter
- Blue and black cardstock paper
- White paint pen
- White acrylist paint/paintbrush
Here Is How To Build Your Snow Globe
Step 1: Start by tracing the plate on a blue piece of card stock paper. Cut it out.
Step 2: Take a 4×6 photo of your student and cut it around their body so no background is showing.
Step 3: Use white paint, make snow on the ground on the paper circle. Sprinkle the glitter snow on top. Add some fingerprints if you want more snow falling.
Step 4: Glue the photo of the student to the circle. Put a large pile of snow glitter in the middle. Use a hot glue gun and put a thick amount around the whole outside of the snow globe paper. Quickly put the plate on top of it and press down.
Step 5: Turn it over and put another ring of hot glue to make sure that no glitter leaks.
Step 6: Cut out a snow globe base with black paper. Glue it to the back of the snow globe then write your student's name and school year with a white pen.
Step 7: Shake, shake, shake! (My students love this step!)
Let me know if your class creates their own photo snow globe this holiday season. I'm sure it will soon become a favorite of yours as well!
