I'm guilty as charged. I'm not the best at following directions…especially when it comes to baking. I glaze over the directions and as a result, most of the treats I make end up burnt, tasting funky, or just plain awful. Maybe it's because I'm impatient???
But let me tell you, my students are the same way! Am I to blame? Probably not, I think it's human nature. I remember when I was in 4th grade and my teacher must have been feeling the same frustration that I am. He had us complete an activity that required us to follow directions. Did I? Of course not! I was calling out numbers, doing jumping jacks and other ridiculous things. Frankly, I was annoyed that some of my classmates were just sitting in their seats. Why the heck weren't they following directions? Joke was on me because when I got to the last number, I realized that I wasn't suppose to do anything, if I followed directions. Dang you Mr. Hitchcock, you got me, good!
Well, I'm going to try the same things with my kiddos tomorrow. Because silly mistakes because they haven't been reading the directions is driving me insane…seriously! Grab this sneaky freebie!
