Monday Made it with Michaels: Canvas signs, Banners, Caddies, and a Magnetic Calendar

I swear to you, sorta, that I always have the best intention to blog.  But once I finish a lesson, product, or project, I feel like I'm rushing off to the next one and blogging takes a backseat…like on a school bus sorta backseat.
I've actually had time this year to have a summer to plan my upcoming school year.  In my 9 years of education, I don't know if that's just a crazy California thing!
I've been bitten by the crafty bug. My mom would tell you I'm crafty because as a mom, I think she's suppose to.  In my opinion, not so much.  I'm not OCD, I don't follow directions, I could care less if things are straight, and I don't really know how to use Pinterest in general.
With that MAJOR disclaimer, let's get started, shall we!

The lack of the #8 is reason enough why I'm just not a crafty girl!  Plus, I don't even really care that it's not there.  But since it will most likely bother others, I'll change it at some point.  But I'm sure it will be at the back of the bus with my next blog post!

My name is Kristen and I’ve enjoyed teaching kindergarten, first grade, a 1/2 combo, and second grade.  I’ve taught at both a low and high-performing Title I schools as well as a few fancy schools in California and O’ahu, Hawaii. I’ve earned my Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in reading in addition to my Reading Specialist Certificate.  When I am not teaching my scholars or other educators at Professional Development classes, I  enjoy creating materials to share with my colleagues, organizing family literacy events, and giving workshops on ways to make Literacy Workshop effective and engaging.
